The Haryana Tourism Corporation Limited has decided to celebrate the 43rd ‘Haryana Tourism Day’ this year from September 1 to 4, 2016 at all its tourist complexes in the State and planned a series of activities during the four-day long celebrations.
While stating this here today, Haryana Tourism Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that the visitors visiting the Tourist Complexes of Haryana Tourism during this period would avail the benefit of ten per cent discount on food as well as on room rent.
He said that apart from this, Food Festival would be organized at Red Bishop, Panchkula, Sunbird Motel, Surajkund and Ethnic India, Rai tourist complexes wherein food stalls of different variety of food items consisting South Indian, Chinese, Rajasthani, Muglai, Hyderabadi and Panjabi would be set up. All the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) would set up their food stalls at the Food Festival except IHM, Panipat who would set up Bakery stall at all these three locations. Apart from this, cultural evenings by reputed artists would also be organized, he added.
Mr Sharma said that competitions for school students like folk dance competition, painting competition, rangoli competition, face painting competition, essay writing competition, tourism quiz and events like senior citizen walk and tree plantation would also be organized. Also, small gifts like sweets, balloons, biscuits duly packed would also be distributed to the children accompanying visitors or guests visiting the tourist complexes. A craft bazaar at Red Bishop tourist complex in Panchkula would also be set up as part of the celebrations. Lighting or illumination at all the tourist complexes and display of welcome banners at a prominent place at the complexes are among the other activities to be undertaken during the Haryana Tourism Day celebrations, he further added.
BHARDWAJ APPOINTED: Haryana government has appointed Mr Govind Bhardwaj as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Limited, Panchkula in place of Mr Varinder Singh Kundu, IAS with immediate effect.
REGISTRATION OF INDIAN STUDENTS: Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that the Union Ministry of External Affairs has initiated the process of Registration of Indian students studying abroad, so as to compile data of such students so that the Government would be able to advise them in hour of need.
Mr. Sharma said that the Students Registration Module has been placed within Union Ministry’s ‘MADAD’ portal. He said that the data entered into this module in a voluntary manner by the Indian students abroad would provide useful inputs about the pattern of migration of Indian students globally, educational courses that they are registering in and related issues.
