Aadhaar card mandatory for 10 and 10+ students

CHANDIGARH, DEC 1
Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has made it compulsory for students of Class X and X plus two to have Aadhaar card number while applying for the 2017 examination.
In a statement issued today, Chairman, BSEH, Dr. Jagbir Singh, said that candidates would benefit in many ways from this move. The use of Aadhaar number would prevent forgery of certificates and impersonation cases, besides ensuring that the details of the candidates are complete and accurate.
He said that while provision for use of Aadhaar in the examination process had been made earlier, it had not been made mandatory. He said that in view of the difficulties that may be faced by the schools initially, the Board had taken several steps to ensure smooth process. In case schools did not provide Aadhaar numbers of candidates earlier, they may fill up the relevant column in the checklists sent by the Board now, he added.
