Scheme to develop and pilgrimage spots in 93 villages

CHANDIGARH, DEC 6
 Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal said that the Saraswati Heritage Development Board has prepared a scheme to develop tourist and pilgrimage spots of 93 villages in three districts of the State. These included 45 villages of district Yamunanagar, 21 of district Kaithal and 27 of Kurukshetra.
          The Chief Minister was speaking after viewing the model of Saraswati Project prepared by the Board, during International Gita Mahotsav-2016 at Purshottampura Bagh in Kurukshetra today.
          He said that under the scheme of the Board, ponds would be constructed near cremation grounds on the banks of Saraswati River for immersion of the ashes. These ponds would be named as ‘Saraswati Ghats’. Besides, about 100 drains would be closed to keep the river water clean. Apart from this, the 204-km main channel from Adibadri to village Aandhali of district Kaithal at Punjab border, and then 150-km ‘Saraswati Dharas’ would be developed, he added.
DIGITAL PAYMENT: Haryana Government has constituted eight-member committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for promotion of digital payments in the State.
        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the committee would oversee the implementation and resolve policy issues relating to promotion of digital payments in the State.
        He said that the committee would include as members Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, ACS, Transport, ACS, Printing and Stationery, ACS, Excise and Taxation, Principal Secretary, Finance and Principal Secretary, Information and Technology.
CM EXPRESSES DEEP SHOCK:  Haryana Chief Minister,  Manohar Lal, has expressed deep shock and grief over the sad demise of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms. J. Jayalalithaa, who passed away following a brief illness, at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai at 11.30pm on December 5, 2016. She was 68.
        In his condolence message issued here today, Mr. Manohar Lal described Ms. Jayalalithaa as a leader of the masses, who devoted her life to serving the people.
        Expressing solidarity with the people of Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister prayed the Almighty that the departed soul may rest in peace.
        The Haryana Government today observed one-day state mourning as a mark of respect to Ms. J. Jayalalithaa.
        The National Flag was flying at half-mast and no official entertainment was held.

Chandigarh, Dec 6 – Haryana Government has given additional charge of Deputy Commissioner, Charki Dadri, to Pankaj, Deputy Commissioner, Bhiwani against a new post to be created, with immediate effect.
