Foundation stones of 22 girls colleges to be laid on Jan 22

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, announced that the foundation stone of 22 girls’ colleges in the State would be laid on January 22, 2017.
        The Chief Minister, who was addressing a public meeting in the newly-created sub-division Badli, district Jhajjar today, said that a scheme to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore had been prepared to supply the water of river Yamuna to southern Haryana within the next two years.
He said that he would soon call on Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, to urge him to ensure the construction of Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal at the earliest. An all-party delegation from the State has already met the President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, in this regard.
Highlighting the initiatives taken by the State Government for development of the State and improving the quality of life of people during its two-year tenure, the Chief Minister said that special emphasis was being laid on production of fruits, vegetables, flowers and dairy products in the National Capital Region to increase the income of farmers. The sex ratio in the State has improved considerably under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme, and new development projects have been initiated in all regions of the State, he added.
        He also announced development projects worth crores of rupees for Badli Assembly Constituency, including new railway line from Farrukhnagar in Gurugram to Charkhi Dadri via Jhajjar, a 20-km four-lane road from International Airport at Delhi to Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway via Badhsa to be constructed at a cost of Rs 550 crore, permanent helipad near National Cancer Institute at Badhsa, and 5MW solar power plant in villages Badhsa and Kaloi. He also announced ayurveda medical college in Jhajjar and girls’ college in Kulana. He also announced to build tourism complex in village Silani.
        He said that in the last two years, Rs 190 crore had been spent on development projects in Badli Assembly Constituency. He announced Rs 52 crore for previous incomplete works, Rs 27 crore each for irrigation projects and solar power plant, Rs 26 crore for roads, and Rs 20 crore for other projects. He also announced Rs five crore for village Raiya, and Rs one crore each for villages Devarkhana and Sondhi.
        He also inaugurated various development projects to the tune of Rs 53 crore on this occasion.
        Union Steel Minister, Mr. Birender Singh, lauded the honest and just administration of the present State Government, which had established a big milestone in the development of Badli Assembly Constituency by according it the status of sub-division, tehsil and block.
        Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Pal, said that the Central and State Governments, led by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, and Mr. Manohar Lal, respectively, were working honestly and had taken several initiatives in the interests of farmers. While the previous governments had raised the price of DAP fertiliser from Rs 400 to Rs 1,200, the present government had not raised its price even once, and had curbed black marketing of urea by making it neem-coated.
          Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar, thanked the Chief Minister for according the status of sub-division, tehsil and block to Badli, and assured the people that their dreams for development of the area would be fulfilled within the next two years.
        Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, raised the demand for opening girls’ college in Kulana, and said that the people had expressed faith in the present State Government.
        Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, said that the present State Government was working on the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ by rising above politics of nepotism, corruption and discrimination.
        Transport Minister, Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar, said that 1,000 new buses would be inducted in the fleet of Haryana Roadways by March 31, 2017 and driver training centre would be opened at Jhajjar bus stand. Housing would be provided to two lakh persons through Housing Board within next three years, he added.
        Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge), Mr. Manish Kumar Grover, and State BJP President, Mr. Subhash Barala, also spoke on this occasion.
