Anya Murthy, Yuvan Nandal enter quarterfinals

   Second seed Yuvan Nadal and Saheb Sodhi advanced into quarterfinals in the boys singles of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors (Grade-3) Tournament for boys and girls under-18 years is being conducted by Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) in Sector 10 Tennis Stadium, here.

 Yuvan Nandal defeated Poonthong Komopisut of Thailand in a 3-setter match. After first  set down 1-4 Yuvan Nandal came back strongly in the 2^nd set. Yuvan won 5-3 in 2^nd set. In the deciding set tie break both players played top quality tennis, finally Yuvan Nandal used his experienced and closed set and match 10-8. 3^rd seed Saheb Sodhi outplayed against Shingo Masuda of Japan 4-1, 4-1 in straight sets. Muni Ananth, Daksh Ashok, Rushil Khosla, Ayush P Bhat and Bhushan Haobam also advanced into Quarterfinals.

 In the girls singles pre-quarterf-inals Anya Murthy upset top seed Suhitha Maruri in a 3 setter marathon match. Anya Murthy lost 1^st set 2-4 after 1^st set down Anya fought back in the second set with her aggressive ground strokes. Anya played intelligently and closed the  set 4-2. 

In the final set tie break Anya maintained her rhythm and closed the set and match without getting much pressure 10-1. Second seed of Thailand L Tararudee also advanced into quarterfinals. L Tararudee defeated qualifier Janani Ramesh in one sided match 4-1, 4-0. Fourth seed S Sirimalla, Vaishnavi Adkar and Renne Singla also entered quarterfinls.
