In an attempt to protect the interest of the farmer of the State Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd. (Hafed) decided to procure around 20,000 MT Paddy from different Mandis of the State to stabilise the market as during the month of November, 2021 there had been a sudden downfall in the market price of Basmati rice and other similar variety of rice.
While giving further information and official spokesperson said that a delegation of Hafed comprising of Chairman, Hafed, MD Hafed and CGM Hafed visited Dubai in the month of December, 2021 and for meeting potential buyers of rice. As a result Hafed has received a confirm export supply order of 5,000 MT of Indian Sella Basmati Rice from a leading importer of Saudi Arabia namely M/s Saleh A Babaker Sons Co., Riyadh.
He informed that in the past, Hafed has successfully executed Export orders of 870 MT Rice of the different varieties including Indian Long Grain, 1121 Basmati Sella and Basmati Sella to Dubai, (UAE) to the tune of 5 crore (682000 USD) during the month of April, 2021.
The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd. (HAFED) is an Apex Cooperative Federation of the Haryana Government with a turnover of over Rs. 16,000 crores for the financial year 2020-21. It is playing a leading role in serving the farmers of the State by procuring/processing their produces by doing value addition on their produce for further sale in domestic as well as in overseas market.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the Nari Shakti Puraskar-2021 will be given by the Ministry of Women and Child Development on the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8, 2022). These types of awards recognize outstanding work in the field of economic and social empowerment of women. The Nari Shakti Puraskar is given every year by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to individuals and institutions in recognition of their service to women empowerment, especially vulnerable and marginalized women. Each winner is given a certificate in the form of a prize and a cash amount of Rs. 2 lakh.
The spokesperson added that the maximum number of awards (including individual and institutional) can be 15. However, any relaxation in the maximum number may be allowed at the discretion of the Selection Committee headed by the Minister of Women and Child Development. Self-nominations and recommendations are also considered for awards. The Selection Committee may also recommend any person/institution for the award of its choice with sufficient justification.
The Screening Committee, headed by a Joint Secretary level officer, Ministry of Women and Child Development, will scrutinize and shortlist the nominations received for the awards considering the applications/recommended institutions and achievements of individuals for the awards. The final selection of the awardees will be done by a Selection Committee headed by the Union Minister for Women and Child Development on the basis of the recommendations of the Screening Committee. Applications will be accepted only through www.awards.gov.in
