Mrs Asha Hooda, wife of the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, today urged the people not to call physically disabled persons as handicap, since nobody could claim himself to be complete. Even if one might physically appear complete,
he might be lacking in thinking.
Mrs Hooda was speaking in a function organized by Spastic Society at Old Age Home, Sector-4, Gurgaon.
By embracing and presenting flowers to the physically handicapped and mentally challenged children, Mrs Hooda made them feel that she had sympathy with them in real terms. Expressing her gratitude to the people who donate money to the Spastic Society for the welfare of needy children, she said that no programme or policy of the Government could be successful without the cooperation of people.
During inspecting the office of the society, she asked a question to the officials whether they came to perform duty or to do service. She was of the opinion that if one came to perform one’s duty, he cannot do service to the people and only he who has missionary spirit, could help the needy. Insensitive person could do no service to the society.
