Chandigarh, April 20 The pension to senior citizens, widows, handicapped persons and destitute children would be distributed ward-wise in Ambala City Municipal Corporation area from April 20 to 24.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that on April 21, pension would be distributed in Ward No.2, 7, 13, 16, 22 and 27, on April 22 in Ward No.3, 8, 14, 17, 23 and 28, on April 23 in Ward No.4, 9, 18, 24, 20 and 29. It would be distributed in Ward No.5, 10, 19, 25, 30 and 31 on April 24 and in Ward No.11 on April 25.
In case any beneficiary could not get his pension on the prescribed dates, he could get it from the office of Municipal Corporation, Ambala City on April 26, he added.
The spokesman said that incentive money of Rs 31.42 lakh were given to 4,826 women of the district under ‘Janani Suraksha Yojana’ during the last financial year. Under the scheme, Rs 700 were given to the women living below poverty lines and belonging to Scheduled Castes if the delivery was conducted in hospital or in any institution and if the delivery was conducted at home, Rs 500 were given for the diet of mother and child.
He said that following the orders of Punjab and Haryana High Court, the time schedule of the Court and offices falling under Ambala Sessions division was being changed from May 1, 2010. From May 1 to July 31, 2010, the timing of Courts would be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and that of court offices from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with half-an-hour break from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
