CHANDIGARH,
NOV 20
Haryana Government
has decided to observe Armed Forces Flag Day on December 6, 2013 throughout the
State to commemorate the bravery and supreme sacrifices of the soldiers.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Flag Day was
an occasion to express our gratitude to Armed Forces personnel, who were
engaged in the onerous task of national defence. He said that token flag and
car stickers would be distributed to the public in return for their voluntary
donations to the Flag Day Fund on the occasion. No monetary amount for the
individual token flag and car stickers was proposed.
However, in view of the increasing financial requirement to run the welfare
schemes for defence personnel, efforts would be made
to mobilize maximum contributions to the Fund. All the Heads of
Department and Deputy Commissioners, Registrar Punjab and Haryana High
Court, All District and Session Judges, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) and
Registrars of all Universities in the state have been requested to extend full
cooperation to the collection of contributions to the Fund and ensure that a
proper account of the token flags and car stickers was maintained.
He reminded that the contributions to Flag Day were exempted from payment of
Income Tax. A trophy would also be awarded to the Zila Sainik Board or Deputy
Commissioner for raising maximum contribution to the Flag Day Fund.
