The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has
congratulated eminent scientist C.N.R. Rao and Cricketer
Sachin Tendulkar for getting the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian
honour.
“Sachin Tendulkar is the first
sportsperson and the youngest recipient of Bharat Ratna. He is an icon who has
been a true ambassador of India in the world of sports. His achievements in the
field of cricket are unmatched and his spirit of sportsmanship exemplary. He
has inspired millions across the country. I congratulate him for getting the
highest honour of the land which he richly deserved”, Mr Hooda said in a
statement issued here today.
Congratulating C.N.R. Rao, Mr Hooda said, “Mr Rao who heads the Scientific Advisory Council to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is a scientist of global repute and an authority on solid state and materials chemistry. His 45 books speak volumes about his caliber and scientific temperament. I congratulate him for getting the Bharat Ratna.”, Mr Hooda added.
