Jowel warns Roadways employees to return to duties

CHANDIGARH, NOV 13
Principal Secretary Haryana, Transport Department R.R.Jowel said that a large number of Haryana Roadways employees remained on strike today despite the negotiations by the representatives of various Employees Unions at various levels in the Government.
He said that inconvenience has been caused to the public by this strike and there has been loss of revenue also to the State exchequer, for which the employees on strike are responsible. He has warned the employees to return to their duties failing which strict disciplinary action would be taken against those who are on strike.
He said that efforts were made to make the representatives of the Employees Unions understand that the intention of the new scheme made by the Government is to provide sufficient public transport services to the public. He made it clear that there would be no adverse effect on the interests of the employees of Haryana Roadways. The State Government is aware of the interests of the employees and is committed to protect their interests. Despite the best efforts by the Government, the employees of Haryana Roadways have gone on strike which is not only undesirable but also illegal.
