CHANDIGARH, NOV 13
Principal Secretary
Haryana, Transport Department R.R.Jowel said
that a large number of Haryana Roadways employees remained on strike today
despite the negotiations by the representatives of various Employees Unions
at various levels in the Government.
He said that inconvenience
has been caused to the public by this strike and there has been loss of revenue
also to the State exchequer, for which the employees on strike are responsible.
He has warned the employees to return to
their duties failing which strict disciplinary action would be taken
against those who are on strike.
He said that efforts were
made to make the representatives of the Employees Unions understand that the
intention of the new scheme made by the Government is to provide sufficient
public transport services to the public. He
made it clear that there would be no adverse effect on the interests of the
employees of Haryana Roadways. The
State Government is aware of the interests of the employees and is
committed to protect their interests. Despite the best efforts by the
Government, the employees of Haryana Roadways have gone on strike which is not only undesirable but also illegal.
