Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi has invited
applications from the litterateurs and writers who have made
outstanding contribution in the promotion of Punjabi language in the State
under various categories of awards for the year 2014.
While giving this information here today, Director of the Akademi Mr. Sukhchain
Singh Bhandari said that the categories of awards included Haryana Punjab Gaurav
Puraskar, Mahakavi Bhai Santokh Singh Puraskar, Sant Taran Singh Vehmi
Puraskar, Kavi Harbhajan Singh Renu Puraskar, Punjabi Patrakarita Puraskar and
Ragi, Dhadi and Lok Gayak Puraskar.
He said that the awards under Punjabi Pustak Puraskar Yojna, the Punjabi books
published from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013 would be eligible
for the awards, he added.
He said that with a view to encourage the Punjabi Story writers, the Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi also
organized Punjabi Story Competition in which the winners of first, second and
third position are given award and a felicitation letter. For this
category, four manuscripts of a story are required to be sent to the Akademi.
He said that the financial grant is also provided by the Akademi for the
publication of manuscripts of writers in the form of books. In such manuscripts
poem, children’s literature, folk literature, review, satire, novel, play and
research work on art, culture, history and literature of Haryana is
included. For this category of award, the writers are required to send
four typed manuscripts each to the Akademi.
Mr. Bhandari said that the application form for the awards could be obtained
either from the Akademi Bhawan, Panchkula personally or through post free of
cost. He made it clear that only the residents of Haryana, Punjabi writer
and Journalist would be eligible for the awards. Applications should reach the
Akademi Bhawan, Panchkula by February 28, 2014, he further added.
