Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia will confer Life Time
Achievement Award upon Dr Naresh, a well known littérateur of Urdu, Hindi,
Punjabi and English language for his outstanding contribution in the field of
literature at a function to be organized by Haryana Sahitya Akademi at Haryana
Raj Bhawan on December 17, 2013.
While giving this
information here today, a spokesman of theAkademi said that Education Minster Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal
would preside over the function.
Dr. Naresh, a former Professor of Modern Literature at Punjab University and
Chairman of Chandigarh Sahitya Academy is worldwide known as poet and writer who wield
his pen equally effortlessly in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and English languages. In
his 50 year career as a writer, Dr. Naresh has authored 72 books including 16
in Urdu, 35 in Hindi, 20 in Punjabi and one in English. Apart from this, he has
received 34 awards which include National Award on his book ‘Chintan aur
Mulyankan’ and international award by the Music World of Birmingham for his
contribution to the literature.
Dr. Naresh has also been honoured by the Haryana Government with ‘Babu Bal
Mukand Gupt Award’ and by the Punjab Government with ‘Shiromani Sahityakar
Award’. Apart from these, he has received ‘Man of the year (2001) award’ from
the American Biographical Institute, USA and International Educator of the year
(2004) award’ from the I.B.C, Cambridge, U.K. He has recently been selected for
‘Fakhr-e-Haryana award’ of the Haryana Government.
