The Haryana Government has decided to
start the distribution of pulses under Dal-Roti Scheme from this month. Besides
the quota of pulses of the month of December, the pending quota of pulses for
the months of October and November would also be distributed in this month.
The distribution process from January 2014 would then be streamlined and
pulses would be supplied every month.
While
stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Haryana Chief Minister
Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has launched Food Security Scheme in the state on
August 20, 2013 and announced that under Dal-Roti Scheme of the State Government
2.5 kg Dal would be provided to 12.84 lakh BPL families at the rate of Rs. 20
per kg. He said that the quality of the Dal to be distributed to the
beneficiaries would be according to the provisions of Food Safety and Standards
Act, 2006. He said that National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) has
been included as one of the option for transparency in tenders and distribution
of high quality pulses.
He

Dal and Urad Dal, other pulses would also be distributed. He said that now the
beneficiaries would be given 4.5 kg Chana Dal and 3 kg Urad Dal as pending
quota for the three months. He said that from January 2014, the distribution
