64.54 lakh MT of wheat arrives in Haryana mandis

CHANDIGARH, MAY 2
More than  64.54  lakh Metric Tonnes (MT) of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana as compared to over 57.90 lakh MT of wheat arrived during the corresponding period last year.
        While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that   procurement of  wheat was going on smoothly in the mandis of the State. Out of the total arrival, more than 64.52 lakh MT of wheat has been purchased by the government procurement agencies at Minimum Support Price.
          Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that more than 17.04 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Food and Supplies Department, whereas HAFED has purchased more than 23.79 lakh MT of wheat. The Food Corporation of India has purchased more than 6.99 lakh MT of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has purchased more than 5.79 lakh MT  and 10.90 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation. He said that apart from this, 1,486 MT of wheat has been procured by traders.
          He said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where more than 9.57 lakh MT of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis. District Karnal has recorded arrival of more than 6.78 lakh MT, district Jind more than 6.12 lakh MT, district Kaithal had more than 5.79 lakh MT, district Fatehabad received more than 5.61 lakh MT, district Kurukshetra more than 4.91 lakh MT and district Hisar has recorded arrival of more than 4.37 lakh MT. Similarly, district Sonepat has recorded arrival of more than 3.37 lakh MT of wheat, district Yamunanagar over  2.63 lakh MT, district Ambala more than 2.49 lakh MT, district Panipat 2.47 lakh MT, district Palwal more than 2.33 lakh MT, district Rohtak more than 2.16 lakh MT and district Bhiwani 1.80 lakh MT. District Jhajjar has recorded arrival of more than 1.17 lakh MT of wheat, district Faridabad 87,350 MT, district Mewat 60,493 MT, district Gurgaon 49,533 MT, district Rewari 34,246 MT, Panchkula 32,067 MT and in Narnaul 24,950 MT of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis.
