Haryana Police prepared to deal with jats agitation

CHANDIGARH, MAY 27
 Haryana Additional Director General Police, Law and Order, Mr. Mohd. Akil today said that the Police was fully prepared to deal with the agitation by the Jats, announced to commence from June 5.
          Mr Akil, who was interacting with media persons here today, was asked to comment on the threat   given by a section of the Jats to restart the agitation.
He said that the Police would try to make the protesters  understand and   not resort to violence, but if they do not understand, the Police would use force  against  such protesters, without any consideration of caste or community.
          In reply to a question concerning the blast in a State Roadways bus yesterday at Kurukshetra, he said that Special Investigation Team has been constituted and it has already stated its work. The investigation would reveal how many criminals were involved and who they were. Even earlier there were two low intensity blasts and this third was of the similar kind, he added.
RS 10 LAKH AWARD ANNOUNCED: The Haryana Government today announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any person who would give credible information about the criminals involved in heinous crime of triggering a blast in a Haryana Roadways bus, which was on its way to Chandigarh from Sonepat yesterday.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Police Department said that the blast occurred near Kurukshetra and some passengers were injured.
          He said that a First Information Report No.256 dated May 26,2016 was registered under section 307 of Indian Penal Code, sections 3 and  5 of Explosives Substances Act, section 4 of  Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and section 16 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act  at Police Station Sadar Thana, Kurukshetra.
He said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already been constituted under the chairmanship of Haryana Additional Director General of Police,Crime, Mr S.S.Kapoor. The team has already started its investigation, he added.
DPEs REDESIGNATED: The  Haryana Government has decided to redesignate the Director of Physical Education working in Government aided colleges as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, as is in case of Government colleges.
          This was stated by Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma today.
          He said that  this was the long standing demand of the  lecturers of Physical Education in Government Aided Colleges. In  government colleges they are already designated as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. He said that it was observed that different designations for similar jobs and similar qualifications create discrimination among  the individuals.
He said that lecturers of Physical Education of Government aided colleges had called on him to change their designation. Therefore, in view of their genuine demand, it was decided to redesignate  them.
          While underlining the significance of games in our life, Mr Sharma urged  the youth to actively take part in games. The new sports policy of the state government has   proved a step forward in promotion of sports in a big way and has also increased opportunities for employment   for sports persons. He said that it is the endeavour of the state government  to motivate the youth to take interest in sports in addition to the academics so as to channelize their energy in creative activities. 
OSD's HEADQUARTER SHIFTED: The Haryana Government has shifted the headquarter of Mr Amarendra Singh, Officer on Special Duty to Chief Minister   from Karnal to Chandigarh.
