The Haryana Government has decided that one-time grant of Rs 21,000 would be provided to all families whose third girl child is born on or after August 24, 2015, irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, income and number of sons, under the ‘Aapki Beti, Hamari Beti’ Scheme.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Women and Child Development Department said the scheme would be implemented in both rural and urban areas of the state.
It would cover the first girl child born in the families belonging to Scheduled Caste and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, and second, twin or multiple girls born on or after January 22, 2015 in any family in the state satisfying the eligibility criteria. The third girl child born on or after August 24, 2015 in any family in the state satisfying the eligibility criteria would also be covered by this scheme.
The spokesman said the LADLI scheme was merged into the ‘Aapki Beti, Hamari Beti’ scheme and second, twin or multiple girls born on or before January 21, 2015 in any family in the state satisfying the eligibility criteria, would be paid benefits as per the rules of the erstwhile LADLI scheme.
A notification to this effect has been issued, he added.
