CHANDIGARH, JULY 1
Realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of digital India, Haryana has scaled new heights. In the last four years under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, Haryana has introduced many new initiatives in IT, which other states are studying today and the Central Government is appreciating the Haryana Government for these unique initiatives.
This was informed by Project Director of Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associates Program, Dr. Rakesh Gupta while addressing the officers and employees of the NIC in view of completion of four years of the Digital India program, through video conferencing here today.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta said that on July 1, 2015, the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi made a resolution that the benefits of government services should be available to the common man in a very simple and easiest way and without any hassle. For this, he delivered a message to move forward with IT and started the Digital India program. In order to realize this program, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal held meetings with the officers of all departments from time to time, motivated them and asked to make such a platform so that people would not have to visit government offices and they get benefits of the services and schemes at their homes.
He said that Antodaya Kendras were started in Haryana at very low cost with the help of NIC and today lakhs of people are availing benefits of government schemes and services. He said that with the adoption of such a complex system by people easily and at low cost, other states are also following Haryana today. He said that Haryana has many achievements such as CM Window, E-PDS System, Digital Locker, HRMS and Cyber Security Policy in these four years. He said that Haryana has digitally advanced so much that today the Central Government is appreciating Haryana.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta said that work is going on at the e-Office Project. In the coming time, the government work, which is presently being one on files, will be completely online. For this, the IT team of all departments and NIC are working day and night. Apart from this, the service book of employees of Education Department will also be made online and after its success in the Education Department, it will be implemented in other departments as well. He said that in this way, around 1.25 lakh government employees would be brought on to the online platform, which will be big success in itself. He said that the success of all these projects will prove to be milestone for Haryana.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta expressed gratitude towards the Deputy Commissioners, officers and employees of NIC, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Department, IT teams of all the departments and the Saral operators working in the districts for making all projects success during these four years and motivated them to work in the same way in future also.
Others present on this occasion included State Information Science Officer, NIC, Mr. Deepak Bansal, Senior Technical Director Mr. Sushil Kumar, Mr. Ganesh Dutt and other officers and employees.
