CHANDIGARH, JUNE 21
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Ranjiv Dalal has
directed police personnel all over the State to protect the rights of
women, children and weaker sections of the society with sensitivity and
never call any woman or child to a police station.
The
DGP, who was interacting with police personnel through wireless
communication system from his office here this evening, also directed
them to effectively implement the Road Domination Drive from June 25 to
July 10 so as to conduct surprise checking of vehicles on roads.
He
also urged them to discharge their duties with utmost dedication,
honesty and in an impartial manner. He also cautioned them that while
taking the prisoners from prisons to courts and from courts to the
prison, they should be more careful. He said that this being one of the
most important duties of police, no laxity should be exercised. He also
appreciated officers and officials of police force, adding that they
have arrested criminals and sent them behind bars as a result of their
bravery, courage and hard-work and even while sacrificing their own
lives.
He
also directed them to expeditiously deal with the ongoing cases of
criminals and also ensure that witnesses are made in the courts without
any delay so as to get the criminals punished. He suggested them to deal
with the cases of hardcore criminals through fast-track courts as on
getting sentenced they become demoralised.
He
was all praise for the telecommunication technical staff for their
efficiency, adding that it was because of them he could communicate with
all police personnel in the State. Wherever wireless stations have been
set up in the State, the police personnel immediately gathered to
listen to the DGP.
