6500 villages to get broadband connectivity

CHANDIGARH, FEB 3
-Haryana Government would soon launch  a new scheme under which villages having population of more than  10,000 would be treated as Nagar Panchayats and developed on the pattern of urban areas. Also, about 6500 villages would get broadband connectivity.
          This was disclosed by Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal while addressing a press conference here today. 
        The Chief Minister said that there were about 120 villages in the State which have population of more than  10,000. These villages would continue to have Gram Panchayats, but development in these villages would be undertaken on the pattern of urban areas. Apart from this, an arrangement is also being made for the drainage of stagnated  water in the villages.
          He said that apart from this,  about 6500 villages in the State would be get the facility of  broadband for internet services. So far, 2500 villages have  this facility. He said that he would urge the NRIs during the Haryana Parvasi Divas to be held on March 9 at Gurgaon, to adopt their native villages so to ensure their overall development. He said that the State Government has already implemented Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojana and Sweh Prerit Adarsh Gram Yojna for the development of villages in the State.
        On being asked about the number of NRIs that are   to participate in the Haryana Parvasi Divas at Gurgaon, he said that  list of all NRIs of Haryana has been sought from the concerned Deputy Commissioners. Apart from this, he is personally writing letters to the NRIs to invite them to the Haryana Parvasi Divas. In all, about 1200 investors were expected to participate in the Global Investors Summit to be organized at Gurgaon on March 7 and 8, 2016.
        When his attention was drawn towards the statement made by the opposition leaders to stall the proceedings of the ensuing budget session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the Chief Minister said that opposition has no issue. Therefore, they are making such statements out of frustration. When asked to comment on the allegations leveled by a woman against hockey player  Mr Sardara Singh  who is Deputy Superintendent of Police  in Haryana Police, he he made it clear that who so ever found   guilty would not be spared.
