Sweden has expressed its keen desire to expanding its production base in Haryana. The IKEA India, a Swedish production-oriented home furnishing retailer with 328 stores in different countries, is considering Haryana for execution of its expansion plan in India.
This was indicated by Mr. Oscar Stenstorm, Secretary, Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, Sweden, as he called on Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, after the investors’ road show at Make in India Centre, MMRDA Grounds, in Mumbai. Mr. Oscar Stenstormb was leading a delegation.
Karnal-based sterile injectable maker Nitin Lifesciences Limited has already been acquired by a Swedish drugmaker.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government would explore the possibilities of plying Volvo buses supplied by Sweden in Manesar, district Gurgaon, and Kundli in district Sonepat, as a part of the smart urban sustainable solution.
Haryana is organising the ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors’ Summit-2016’ in Gurgaon on March 7 and 8, 2016, where Japan and UK have agreed to become partner countries. The Chief Minister also asked Sweden to become a partner country.
Haryana Industries Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, said that Haryana has a very strong automobile eco-system.
Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary, Industries, Mr. Devender Singh, Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, and Principal Secretary and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, were also present on this occasion.
