Technical Education exams on June 15

In view of the elections of Municipal Corporation in the state, examinations of Haryana State Board of Technical Education will be held on June 15, 2013 which were earlier scheduled on June 2, 2013.
        While stating this today, a spokesman of the board said that all the stakeholders could review the revised date sheet on the website of the board www.hsbte.org.

4 IAS officers transferred in Haryana

The Haryana Government has issued transfer and posting orders of four IAS officers with immediate effect.
            Ms. Amna Tasneem has been posted as Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) at Hisar, Mr. Dhirendra Khadgata as Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) at Rohtak, Ms Priyanka Soni as Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) at Kurukshetra and Mr. Shaleen has been posted as Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) at Mewat.


The Government has also issued posting and transfer orders of four District Information Public Relations Officers of the Department of Information and Public Relations with immediate effect.
       On his promotion, Dharamveer Singh has been posted to Kurukshetra relieving Randhir Singh, DIPRO Kaithal from the additional charge. Similarly, on his promotion, Suresh Kumar has been posted at Sonipat vice Devender Singh, DIPRO who has been transferred to Faridabad relieving Jagdeep Duhan, DIPRO, Mewat from the additional charge. Surender Kumar on his promotion has been posted to Jind relieving DIPRO, Fatehabad from the additional charge.

USA shows keen interest in exploring investment in Haryana

 United States of America has shown keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Haryana especially in the field of Information Technology and Food Processing.
The Ambassador of USA, Ms. Nancy J. Powell who called on Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today has described her visit as an opportunity to meet political and business leaders in Haryana. US based multinational companies had invested about 1000 crores in the state out of which 165 companies have financial or technical collaboration.
 The Chief Minister apprised Ms. Powell that all round development has been taking place in Haryana. Due to its investment friendly atmosphere, there were ample possibilities of investment in Haryana. He said that the state has more than 1000 industrial units with foreign technical or financial collaboration. Major US companies having investment or tie ups in the state including Timex, Whirlpool General Electric, Mobil Petroleum, Hollister, Mars, Volvoline, Amazon, Carrier and Harley Davidson.
            Mr. Hooda apprised that Haryana stood first in terms of per capita investment in the country and the state also ranks among major states in per capita income. The resource mobilization of the state is highest and Haryana is at number one in wheat productivity. The Central Government had twice honoured the State with Krishi Karman Award.
            Referring to steps taken by the state government to bring qualitative improvement in the educational system, Mr. Hooda said that Haryana is emerging as an education hub. World’s third Defence University is being set up in district Gurgaon. The other two are in China and USA. Apart from this the first National Institute of Design in northern India is also being set up at Kurukshetra. Besides this, first Women University in northern India had been set up in Haryana at Sonipat. Apart from this, Rajiv Gandhi Education City is being developed at Kundli in Sonipat where 50,000 students at a time would get education under one roof. Ms. Powell all praised for the education infrastructure saying that it is a very big campus of education. During the last seven to eight years time, emphasis is equally laid on industrial and service sector besides agriculture for the growth of the economy, he added.
            Describing Haryana as the "Sports Power", Mr. Hooda said that performance of state players is outstanding in international events. Despite being a small state and having two per cent of total population of the country, our players have won 22 gold medals out of total 38 won by the country in the Commonwealth Games.
            Mr. Hooda said that safety of women being an important topic hence government has taken effective steps in this direction. Women police officials have been recruited and posted at every police station.
            Education Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal, Chief Secretary Mr. P.K. Choudhery, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Chhatar Singh, Principal OSD to Chief Minister, Mr. M.S. Chopra, Principal Secretary Higher Education Mr. S.S. Prasad and Principal Secretary Industries Mr. Y.S. Malik were also present on this occasion.

Haryana Government to set up six colleges

The Haryana Government will set up six new government colleges at Satnali in Mahendragarh district, Sampla in Rohtak district, Kharkhoda in Sonipat district, Bahal in Bhiwani district, Bharia in Kurukshetra district and Jasia in Rohtak district from next academic session.  
            This was stated by Principal Secretary Higher Education Mr. S.S. Prasad while addressing a seminar on the topic of ‘Catalyzing Reforms in Higher Education” organised at Confederation of Indian Industry here today.
            While emphasizing on the quality in higher education, Mr. Prasad said that the government had already taken effective measures for capacity building in this direction. Now efforts are being made to improve quality of education. He said that during last six years, the number of universities in the state has gone up from nine to 34. Apart from this, 28 new colleges had been opened during last five year. Language labs have also been started in 31 colleges for improvement of communication skills and to enhance employability of the students, he added.
            He said that Haryana will become as an educational hub in near future. Private Universities Act had been enacted as a result of which 14 private universities had been opened so far in the state. He said that Rajiv Gandhi Education City is being developed at Kundli in Sonipat where world class educational institutes would set up their centres, he added.
            The seminar was attended by a number of educationists, senior officers of the government and a number of  other dignitaries.
