CHANDIGARH, MAY 18
The wheat arrival in Haryana is steadily picking up and
over 58.62 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have so far arrived in the mandis of
Haryana during the current procurement season.
While
stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said
that out of it, over 58.54 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by
Government agencies at the minimum support price and 8815 metric tonnes of
wheat has been purchased by the private millers and traders.
He
said that HAFED had procured over 22.69 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, Food and
Supplies over 14.56 lakh metric tonnes, Food Corporation of India over 7.24
lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation over 5.68 lakh metric
tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 5.29 lakh metric tonnes and CONFED
had purchased 3.06 lakh metric tonnes of wheat.
He
said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where over 8.31 lakh
metric tonnes of wheat had so far arrived in the mandis, followed by district
Karnal where over 6.53 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis.
District Fatehabad ranked third with over 6.03 lakh metric tonnes of wheat
followed by district Kaithal over 5.61 lakh metric tonnes, in district Jind
where over 5.48 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived. In district Kurukshetra
over 4.56 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived. Similarly, in district Hisar
over 4.25 lakh metric tonnes, in district Sonepat over 2.98 lakh metric tonnes,
in district Panipat over 2.34 lakh metric tonnes, in district Palwal over 2.10
lakh metric tonnes, in district Ambala over 2.04 lakh metric tonnes, in
district Yamunanagar over 1.90 lakh metric tonnes, in district Bhiwani over
1.68 lakh metric tonnes, in district Rohtak over 1.50 lakh metric tonnes, in
district Faridabad 91,010 metric tonnes, in district Jhajjar 72,022 metric
tonnes, in district Gurgaon 45,822 metric tonnes, in district Mewat 42,273
metric tonnes, district Panchkula 33,982 metric tonnes, in district
Rewari 20,083 metric tonnes and in district Narnaul 17,795 metric tonnes
of wheat had arrived in the mandis.
