CHANDIGARH, MAY 22
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has congratulated
mountaineers Mr. Ram Lal Sharma and Mrs. Kanta Duhan for scaling Mount Everest.
Both have brought laurels to the country by climbing world’s highest peak.
Mr.
Hooda said that the state is proud on their achievement and this marvelous feat
would inspire other youngsters also.
Mr.
Ram Lal hails from Tohana in district Fatehabad whereas Mrs. Kanta Duhan, head
constable in Haryana Police is posted at Bhuna Police Station, district
Fatehabad.
Member of Parliament, Dr. Ashok Tanwar also congratulated them for their
significant achievement. He said that efforts have been made to provide world
class infrastructure to the sportsperson in the state. Performance of
our players has improved considerably by modern sports facilities and they have
excelled at the national and international events, he added.
He
said that Rs.6.5 crore had been received for Sports Academy to be set up at
village Dariyapur in Fatehabad. The work of academy would be started shortly. A
first of its kind synthetic Astroturf would be constructed in the academy
so that sports facilities matching international level could be provided to the
sportspersons.
