55.31 lakh MT of wheat arrive in Haryana mandis

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 30
In Haryana, so far over 55.31 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived out of which over 55.29 lakh metric tonnes has been purchased at Minimum Support Price by the procurement agencies.
        While giving this information today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that the procurement is working smoothly in the state and there is no problem in the mandis. He said that the procurement agencies have gunnybags in adequate quantity. He said that the Food and Supplies Department and other procurement agencies have paid Rs 6077.33 crore for purchased wheat till April 26, 2015.
        He said that so far about 16.79 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by Food and Supplies Department, over 23.67 lakh metric tonnes by HAFED, over 5.84 lakh metric tonnes by Agro, 5800 metric tonnes by CONFED and over 8.93 lakh metric tonnes by Ware House Corporation. Apart from this, 1867 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by traders.
        The spokesman said that over 54.22 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was procured during the corresponding period last year. Similarly, the wheat procured during current Rabi season is 1.07 lakh metric tonnes more than that procured during corresponding period last year.
