Shivalik and Mewat area teachers to get special allowance

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 24
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that in order to overcome the shortage of teachers in areas like Shivalik and Mewat, the state government is considering to give special allowance to teachers posted there so that they dont take their posting as burden and rather teach students with full dedication.
The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting with various unions of government teachers regarding quality improvement in education held at Haryana Niwas here today. The Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma and Additional Chief Secretary, Education, Mr. Vijai Vardhan, Principal Secretary, Mr. T.C. Gupta and other senior officers were also present there.
He said that the state government is working in the direction of to involving teachers less to less in the non-teaching works. He said that there should be grading system for teachers too and good teachers should focus more on weak students. The Chief Minister gave assurance that he would sympathetically consider the demands put forth by teachersunions.
Speaking on the occasion, the Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that the present state government has taken the initiative of preparing value based environment in government schools and for this, Yoga and Gita were being incorporated in school syllabus. He said that the administrative demands of the Department would be approved on priority basis.
