A member of the gold medal winning 4x400 metres relay race in 1962 Jakarata Asian Games, Daljeet Singh Grewal, died today at his native village Lalton Khurd in Ludhiana.
According to information received from Punjab Basketball Association general secretary Teja Singh Dhaliwal, Daljeet, who was born on November 21, 1936, was cremated today which was largly attended by the villagers.

Dubey and his officials and jawans, former Basketball Federation of India president and Punjab Director General of Police .Rajdeep Singh Gill, Teja Singh Dhaliwal, Olympians Hardeep Singh Grewal, Sukhbir Singh Grewal, Jagdev Singh,albir Singh and Ex. Sarpanch Tarlochan Singh and many prominent people of the area mourned the death of Daljit Singh Grewal who had also won silver medal in 800 metres by clocking 1:52.6 in Jakarta.
