CHANDIGARH, SEPT 9
The Haryana Government has decided to set up a multi-storey bus terminal at Ambala City on Public-Private Partnership mode on Design-Build-Finance-Operate- Transfer model basis at a cost of about Rs 240 crore.
Approval to this effect was given in a meeting of the Committee of Secretaries on Infrastructure, presided over by Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, here today.
It was informed in the meeting that the bus terminal would be operated at the existing terminal site of the bus stand. The work on the project will commence in 2017 and it would be completed within two years.
While parking facility would be developed in the basement of the terminal building, space would be reserved for commercial activities on the first and other upper floors. It was also decided that there would be no restriction on height of its building.
Those present in this meeting included Financial Commissioner and Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Transport, Mr. S.S. Dhillon, ACS, Public Works (Buildings and Roads), Mr. Hardeep Kumar, ACS, Town and Country Planning, Mr. P. Raghavendra Rao, ACS, Finance and Planning, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, ACS, Forests and Wildlife, Mr. R.R. Jowel, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Devender Singh, Principal Secretary, Labour, Mr. Mahavir Singh and other concerned senior officers of the State Government.
