Leader of Opposition, South Australia Legislative and Shadow Minister, Mr David Ridgway has expressed keen desire to work in close coordination with Haryana in waste water treatment technologies.
Mr David Ridgway, was leading a 4-member delegation and had called on Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal here today. The members of the delegation also desired to further strengthen bilateral relations and explore business opportunities in agriculture and tourism sectors.
The Chief Minister asked the delegation to come up with a pilot project about the waste water treatment technologies in the state so that the same could be replicated for treating waste water in the State. He asked the Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department to remain in touch with the delegation for the same.
The Chief Minister apprised the delegation that Haryana Government is celebrating Gita Jayanti Utsav at international level this year. He also said that Haryana in entering into its golden jubilee year on November 1, 2016. He invited them to participate in these celebrations.
Describing Haryana as a sacred land with ancient culture, Mr David said that Australia can also assist in regenerating Saraswati river in addition to clean its other rivers. There are ample possibilities to increase cooperation with Haryana in the areas of latest technology for crops and agriculture and tourism.
Those present in the meeting included members of delegation Ms Loretta Joseph, Mr Peter Prentice and Mr Angus Fraser, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar, Deputy Chairman of Haryana Saraswati Heritage Development Board, Mr Prashant Bhardwaj, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Mr V.S. Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary Tourism Mrs Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering, Mr Alok Nigam, Principal Secretary, Irrigation, Mr Anurag Rastogi and other officers.
