Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has announced to set up ‘Sadbhavna Mandap’ in all blocks of district Mewat where programmes on communal harmony, skill development, education and sports would be organised.
Mr Naqvi, who was addressing the third progress panchayat in village Bichhaur, district Mewat, said that he has spoken to the concerned officers of the state government and the Ministers regarding the setting up of these Sadbhavna Mandaps. He called upon the people of Mewat that one might have negative agenda, but “we would bring to you only the issues of development and growth, which would only ensure your welfare”.
He said that a driving school of international level would be set up in Mewat in which his Ministry would also give assistance. During the last two-and-a-half years of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi led Central government, the country has witnessed an atmosphere of development in which the employment avenues have been increased by manifold. He assured that these opportunities would be further increased in the days to come. He said that it was for the first time that the government has come to the people of Mewat with a programme of development through progress panchayats.
The Union Minister said that Mr Modi is of the view that we should go to the people with the development policies and programmes of the government. To realize this, Government has come up with the agenda of development in progress panchayats. Stressing the need to fight a war against poverty, Mr Naqvi said that for this, education is must to eliminate poverty from the country. We intend to improve the standard of education in Mewat so that the people could feel the sense of equality, said Mr Naqvi, adding that various programmes of skill development would be started in Mewat so as to make the youth employable.
While referring to the terrorist attack in Uri recently, Mr Naqvi said that there are some forces which have become the enemy of 125 crore people of the country and wanted to disrupt the peace in the world. He questioned that whether these forces should get befitting reply or not. On this, the people raised their hands in affirmation. Mr Naqvi said that we got your reply and such forces would be given appropriate reply.
Later while interacting with the media persons, Mr Naqvi assured that he would make efforts along with Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh to get rail service started in Mewat. In reply to another question, he said that we should be united for the security and honour of the country. When asked whether this programme has been organized keeping in view the upcoming assembly elections in some States, he replied that neither he asked the people to join our party nor talked about elections. He said that he has come here to establish faith among the people of Mewat towards development.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Planning, Urban Development and Housing and Poverty Alleviation, Rao Inderjit Singh said that the main aim of the progress panchayat is to apprise the people belonging to Minority Communities about the achievements and welfare policies of the government. He described the people of Mewat as brave.
Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that it is a matter of concern that despite its proximity to National Capital, Delhi, Mewat remained backward. He said that the state government is ensuring the development of Mewat by following the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ given by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi.
