The Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2014 is unique, as it affords an excellent opportunity to the finest craftspersons and weavers of India to display and sell their products directly without being exploited by middlemen.
          Artists from across the globe have been given a gold opportunity to display their handmade talent. It is a platform through which we can introduce the rich cultural heritage of India to the world. The Lehanga and Choli of Gujarat has become a center of attraction  for the visitors. A native of Bhujh from Gujarat Mr Jaivardhan Parmar  who has displayed his handmade lehanga cholis at the Mela said that the cost of each dress ranges between Rs450 to Rs 5000 and daily 2000 to 3000 Lehanga Chlois are being purchased by the visitors. He said that it takes about 45 days to prepare one such dress.
          About 5 to 6 from Gujarat are participating in the Mela this year. They said that are becoming a part of the mela every year and till now they have sold about 15000 to 20000 traditional dresses of their state.  They said that the Mela has proved to be a boon for them as the profits they earned through this 15 day long mela helps them survive their livings for the most part of the year.
