With a view to encouraging more people to pay property tax on time, the Haryana Government has provided the facility of rebate in certain cases.
While giving this information Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain, said that one-time rebate at the rate of 30 per cent would be given to those persons who clear all their arrears for the years 2010-11 to 2012-13, at 10 per cent to those who pay their total tax for the assessment year by July 31 of that assessment year, and at 10 per cent to those who deposited their due tax for the year 2015-16 up to September 30, 2015. In case the arrears are paid up to September 30, 2015, one-time waiver of interest on arrears of property tax pending since 2010-11 to 2014-15, has also been allowed, she added.
Mrs. Jain further said that the Haryana Government has approved the proposal in principle for setting up of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for operation of City Bus Service in Gurgaon.
Apart from this, Municipal Council, Sonepat, has been upgraded as Municipal Corporation, Sonepat and Municipal Committee, Barara, has been constituted during this period, she added.
The Minister said that to further strengthen firefighting services, 74 fire vehicles, including 40 Water Bowsers, 20 Foam Crash Tenders, nine Water Tenders and five Rescue Tenders, have been deployed in various fire stations.
In order to facilitate the people of the State, the Haryana Government has also introduced Internet-based electronic tendering system in all the municipalities of the State for all type of works. Apart from this, 21 services of the municipalities have been included in the notification dated May 13, 2015, under Section 3 of the Right to Services Act, 2014, issued by the Administrative Reforms Department, she said.
