Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad said that as per the directions of the Election Commission, summary revision of photo electoral rolls of all assembly constituencies in the state is being carried out under a special campaign with reference to January 1, 2016 as the qualifying date.
He said that giving another opportunity to citizens attaining the age of 18 years or above as on January 1, 2016, the period for filing claims and objections have been extended upto November 24, 2015.
He said that a special campaign would be launched on November 22, 2015 for filing claims and objections. All Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would remain present at their respective polling centres between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on that day. He appealed to all eligible voters who could not file their application forms earlier due to any reason can now file the same during the special campaign by bringing complete documents to BLOs or District Election offices.
He urged all citizens in the state to take maximum benefit of the same. In case their names were not registered in voter list and they meet all the conditions, they should register themselves as voters. He said that registration of names in more than one place as well as registration in case of ineligibility is an offence and there is a provision of punishment under Public Representative Act 1950.
