In a crackdown on cattle smuggling in Haryana, 18 cows were rescued from smugglers in district Bhiwani in the wee hours of July 21, 2016.
While stating this today, Secretary, Regional Transport Authority and City Magistrate, Bhiwani, Mr. Mahesh Kumar, said that the truck ferrying the cattle was stopped for checking during patrolling on Dadri road in Bhiwani. However, instead of stopping, the driver sped the vehicle towards Dadri.
He said that he chased the truck across Dadri to village Ramnagar, where the truck, along with 19 cows, was abandoned by its three occupants who fled under the cover of darkness. Rushing to the spot, the Dadri Sadar Police impounded the truck. However, as the animals were crammed in the truck beyond capacity, one of them died due to suffocation. The other cows have been shifted to a ‘gaushala’, he added.

CLEANING RIVER YAMUNA: With a view to clean river Yamuna, the Haryana Government has decided to set up a new Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and upgrade five others at a cost of about Rs 28.74 crore during the current financial year.
While stating this here today, Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister, Mr. Ghanshyam Saraf, said that special administrative approval to this effect has been given by Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
He said that in view of the orders of National Green Tribunal, New Delhi, the Government has decided to upgrade the existing STPs in those towns where effluent is directly or indirectly discharged into river Yamuna to bring down the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) of treated sewage. He said that STP of 4MLD at Nissing and STP of 6MLD at Nilokheri would be renovated and STP of 4MLD capacity based on SBR technology would be constructed at Indri. Apart from this, STP of 10MLD near village Indra Chakravarti and another STP of 8MLD at Karnal would also be upgraded.
He said that working according to the vision of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, regarding cleanliness of river Ganga and its tributaries, the Chief Minister had recently inaugurated a STP of 25MLD at village Siwah in district Panipat. Under this project, two STPs would be constructed at a cost of Rs 129.51 crore for Panipat city.
NATIONAL AVIATION POLICY: The Haryana Government is preparing an action plan on the pattern of National Aviation Policy so as to enhance facilities concerning aviation in Hisar.
This was stated by Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Dr Kamal Gupta who held a meeting with the representatives of various companies associated with aviation sector like Frost and Sullivan Consultancy Agency, Pratt and Whitney and Honeywell and officers of Haryana Aviation Department, said that they inspected the airstrip in Hisar and interacted with the representatives of Consultancy companies about facilities available in Hisar.
He said that the Haryana Government has also constituted a task force constituted to explore the possibilities to set up an aviation hub in Hisar. The task force has includes representatives of Airport Authority of India, State Aviation Department and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation. As the local airport at Hisar has 3,000 acres of land, the task force held a meeting to discuss ways and means to provide better aviation facilities. He said that a comprehensive report is being prepared by Frost and Sullivan Consultancy Agency which would soon be submitted to the Government.
