Haryana to set up separate department for ex-servicemen

CHANDIGARH, JULY 28
The Haryana Government would soon set up a separate department for the welfare of ex-servicemen in the state.
          This assurance was given by Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal while responding to a tweet during live twitter session here today.
          Digital Haryana was on full play when the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, went live in a twitter session with people answering their queries. The fact that twitter handlers came from small town like Kalayat underscored the miles travelled by the state government on the road to Digital Haryana.
          Taking prompt action on a complaint against a private school located in Sector-19 of Faridabad for effecting hiking fees by more than 100 per cent in the last two years, the Chief Minister said he would take up the matter with Divisional Commissioner,  Mr D. Suresh. He told the complainant to contact him on his mobile number 9717263333. The government is considering an amendment in the rules to obviate such abrupt and hefty hikes, he added.
          Responding to a tweet regarding the start of work on the Hansi-Meham-Rohtak railway line, Mr Manohar Lal said "We were also misled into believing that the previous government had paid the money for this project. But it is not correct. We have now paid over Rs. 300 crore and acquisition of land will start soon", he said.
          In response to a tweet concerning the declining status of Kuruksehtra University, he said a committee had been set up to improve the academic standards in all universities of the state. The report is expected in three-four months.
          To another query regarding the commencement of the Smart Grid Project in Gurgaon, the Chief Minister responded that the first phase would be completed in one year. "I have issued instructions to reduce the period of the second phase of three years to two years", he added.
          Asked if the state government had any proposal to set up an indoor sports stadium in Kalayat, he said he would have the demand examined. "Hope for the best on August 13 when I will be visiting Kalayat", he added.
          Asked about the quantum of compensation given to the farmers in the last two years, Mr Manohar Lal said a sum of more than Rs 2,300 crore had been paid to the farmers which is more than double the sum of compensation given by all state governments since 1966.
          In response to a tweet, the Chief Minister said that 3,235 appointment letters had been issued for various posts. Besides, the Haryana Staff Selection Commission has already announced written examination for 9,000 posts in the Education Department and 7,000 posts in other departments. The physical running activity test of more than three lakh candidates for 5,000 posts of police constables has also been completed.
          Going live with another tweet asking how serious was the state government about the promotion of indigenous cows and buffaloes in the state which is known for its ‘Doodh-Dahi’, the Chief Minister replied, "Why don’t you ask our political opponents who often accuse us of being too serious on this issue?".
          In reply to another tweet regarding the success of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme in the State, the Chief Minister took pride in saying that our achievements so far have won us kudos from Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi.
          In another fast response to a tweet, he said that the average age of elected Panch, Sarpanch, Member of Block Samiti, Zila Parishad, Municipal Committee, Municipal Council and Municipal Corporation is 34. We have opened democracy at the grassroot to the youth like nowhere else in the world.
          In yet another response, he said that like Gurgaon, IT companies are also coming up in many other cities of the state including Faridabad and Panchkula. With the coming up of these It companies, youth would get maximum employment opportunities.
