CHANDIGARH, SEPT 11
The Haryana Government has
decided to install close circuit cameras with LCD televisions in Observation
Homes and Special Homes in the State for security of juveniles residing in
these Homes.
While stating this today, Mrs Sumita Misra, Director General, Women and Child
Development Department said that directions had already been issued to District
Programme Officers and Superintendents of these Homes to take necessary action
in this regard. She said that one of the cameras would be installed at the
entrance to check the persons coming to Observation Homes and Special Homes and
other cameras would be installed at other vulnerable points where it was
required for security purpose These cameras would have connectivity for
monitoring and supervision in the office of such Homes.
She said that proposal has also been sought for provision of video conferencing
in the Observation Homes so that in future evidence of juveniles could be done
through e-conferencing with the Magistrate.
