CHANDIGARH, SEPT 19
Municipal Corporation Gurgaon has bagged the prestigious Skoch
Digital Inclusion Awards-2012 for providing
better on-line facility of issuing birth and death certificates to the people
of Gurgaon.
Municipal Commissioner Mr. Sudhir Rajpal was presented
with this gold award in a function organized at
Delhi. The award was presented by Secretary, Department of Information
Technology, Government of India Mr. J.S Satyanarayan in the presence of Union
Law Minister Mr. Salman Khurshid. The Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon was
honoured with the award and an appreciation letter in recognition for better
services in this field.
The Chairman of the Skoch Group Mr. Sameer Kochhar
appreciated the initiative of the Corporation of providing easy and accessible
service of issuing birth and death certificates to the people, He said that
about two lakh people had so far contacted the online service of Municipal
Corporation, Gurgaon, he added.
Skoch Group give awards various administrative departments
across the country for implementing the projects aimed at providing better
facilities for the people.
