Swaran Jayanti’ Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 31
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that the year 2016 being the Golden Jubilee year of Haryana’s existence, a special two-day ‘Swaran Jayanti’ Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha should be organized. Its dates would be finalised in consultation with all members of the Legislative Assembly.
    Mr Manohar Lal, who is also leader of the House, was speaking on the concluding day of Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
          He said that this special session would provide all of us an opportunity to discuss what we have so far done for the State and present the vision of the State Government so that it becomes memorable for the State.
SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:  Haryana Vidhan Sabha has unanimously passed a resolution to name the Chandigarh International Airport as Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh.
          The resolution was passed on the concluding day of budget session of Vidhan Sabha here today. The passed resolution will be sent to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation.
NINE DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENTS PROMOTED: Haryana Government has promoted nine Deputy Superintendents of Haryana Civil Secretariat to the post of Superintendents with immediate effect.
          These are Mrs Raj Kumari, Mr Hawa Singh, Mr Hari Krishan, Mr Basu Dev, Mr Ranbir Singh, Mrs Sunita Kumari, Mr  Gajender Singh, Mr Ali Hasan and Mr Gauri Shankar.
  INFORMAITONA COMMISSIONERS: Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki will administer the oath of affirmation to two newly appointed State Information Commissioners, namely Mr Bhupender Kumar Dharmani and Mr Sukhbir Singh Gulia at Haryana Raj Bhawan on April 1 at 11 a.m.
 125TH  AMBEDKAR'S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY: The Haryana Government has decided to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in a befitting manner and the state level function would be held in Yamunanagar on April 14, 2016.
          This was stated by Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Minister, Mr. Krishan Kumar Bedi who was addressing a joint press conference with Transport Minister, Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar here today.
        Mr. Bedi said that the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal would be the chief guest on this occasion whereas the function would be presided over by the Transport Minister. Member of Parliament, Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria and local MLAs would also be present on this occasion.
        Replying to a question, Mr. Panwar said that following the directions of Chief Minister, the Haryana Government has, for the first time, decided to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti, Guru Ravidas Jayanti, Valmiki Jayanti and Sant Kabir Jayanti at its own level.
        Replying to another question, Mr. Bedi said that Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had earlier announced to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar throughout the country. Functions would be organised at panchayat level across the country and the youth would be apprised about his life and deeds.
PROCUREMENT OF WHEAT: Haryana Food and Supplies Minister, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj said that all arrangements have been made for procurement of wheat which would commence from April 1, 2016 in the mandis of the state.
          He said that 379 mandis or purchase centers have been set up all over the state  for the procurement of Rabi crops. The mandis have been so spaced as to ensure that the farmers are not required to travel more than one kilometre to sell their produce.In these mandis, availability of basic amenities such as drinking water, electricity, pucca platforms, sheds and parking   have been ensured. The state government is committed to making payment  to the farmers within 48-72 hours of the  procured of the produce. Officers have been deputed in the mandis for the convenience of farmers.
          Mr Kamboj said that this year, about 75 lakh metric tonnes   of wheat is expected to arrive in the mandis. The Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat has been fixed at Rs 1,525 per quintal, MSP for Barley Rs 1,225 per quintal and that of Gram has been fixed at Rs 3,425 per quintal. He said that the Food and Supplies Department and HAFED would purchase 33 per cent each of the wheat that would arrive in the mandis. Similarly, the Food Corporation of India and Haryana Warehousing Corporation would purchase 12 per cent each, and the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation woul;d procure ten per cent of the total arrival of wheat.
COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRES: Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that generator sets would be installed in Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs) to ensure uninterrupted supply of power.
          Mr Vij was replying to a question  during the last day of Haryana Vidhan Sabha session here today.
          He said that on the basis of demand of the people, the present government has decided to expand the network of PHCs, CHCs and hospitals in various districts of the state.  Therefore, mapping of all health institutions in the state would be conducted. He said that construction   of PHC building in Julana would be started soon after the local panchayat transferred the land to the Health Department.
          The Health Minister said that a separate cadre of specialist doctors was being formed to meet the shortage of such doctors in the state. He said that at present only MBBS doctors were being recruited. In future, Gynecologists, Orthopedicians, Pediatricians and such others would be recruited.
          Mr Vij said that even after 60 years of Independence, Mewat is still a backward area. Since assuming the office, the present government  had been resolving the problems of people of Mewat on priority basis. He said that in case  any complaint regarding irregularity committed in any health institute  in Mewat area is received, it would be investigated.
