Haryana to introduce new subjects in govt colleges

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 3
The Haryana Government has decided to introduce new subjects in various government colleges of the State from the academic session 2016-17.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Higher Education Department said that the new courses and subjects include one unit of B.B.A. in Government College, Ambala Cantonment and one unit of M.A. Geography in Government College for Women, Tosham.
          He said that one unit of Physical Education has been started in Government College for Women, Behal, one unit each of B.A. Geography (Hons.) and Hindi Elective in Government College for Women, Hisar, and one unit each of Physical Education, B.Sc. Computer Science and M.A. English in Government College, Narwana.
        The spokesman said that one unit of M.A. History has been started in Government College, Birohar, district Jhajjar. Similarly, one unit each of M.A. History and P.G. Diploma in Mass Communication have been started in Government College, Karnal. He said that one unit each of M.Com, M.A. History, M.A. English and Physical Education has been introduced in Government College, Matak Majri, district Karnal.  One unit of B.Sc. Non Medical has been started in Government College, Krishan Nagar, district Mahendragarh, as announced earlier by Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
        He said that one unit of M.A. Economics has been started in Government College, Panipat, and one unit each of B.A. English (Hons.) and one-year Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism has been introduced in Government College, Panchkula. Similarly, one unit of Physical Education has been introduced in Government College, Barwala, district Panchkula, one unit of M.A. Geography in Government College, Rohtak, one unit of M.A. Geography in Government College, Tauru, district Mewat, one unit of Geography in B.A. in Government College, Murthal and one unit of Physical Education in Government College, Kharkhoda, district Sonepat.
KAVITA INVITED FOR IFTAR: British Deputy High Commissioner, Chandigarh, Mr. David Lelliott today called on Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain to invite her to attend Iftar party to be organised by him on June 13 as Chief Guest.
        Mr. Lelliott said that the party was aimed at promoting goodwill, harmony and brotherhood among different communities and spreading the message of non-violence and peace.
        Accepting the invitation, Mrs. Jain said that Haryana Government respects all the religions and works with the spirit of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’.
        On this occasion, Mrs. Jain discussed various issues related to education and empowerment of women. Mrs. Jain also invited Mr. Lelliott for the International Yoga Day programme to be held on June 21.
UNIFORM BUILDING CODES: The Haryana Government has drafted Uniform Building Codes with an aim to facilitating the general public and to streamline the process of building plan approval by simplifying and eliminating unnecessary hurdles.
          While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that these codes have been finalized in consultation with all stakeholder Departments and would be applicable across the board in the Departments dealing business of land development.
          He said that these Building Codes have been drafted having duly considered issues relating to comprehensiveness, renewable energy generation, provisions of green buildings, disaster mitigation, self-certification, simplification of building plan approval process and compatibility with online approval system.  These codes have been hosted on the websites of Urban Local Bodies Department, Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Haryana State Industrial Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC) for inviting suggestions from general public.
DECISION WITHDRAWN: The Haryana Government has withdrawn the decision to put on hold all the regularisation policies framed or revised on or after June 16, 2014, in respect of Group B, C and D employees appointed or engaged on adhoc or contractual basis.
        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that a written communication to this effect has been sent to all Administrative Secretaries, who have been asked to bring these instructions to the notice of all concerned under their administrative control.
