The Haryana Government has introduced the facility to apply online to avail the benefit of Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojna under which the money of shagun is provided on the marriage of girls. Therefore, to avail the benefit of the scheme, one need not visit any office time and again, but apply on line one month prior to the wedding.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the beneficiary would have to log on at www.haryanawelfareschemes. org and upload relevant information like BPL ration card, bank account number of parents, documents of age proof of both the boy and the girl. After completing all required formalities, the shagun money will be directly credited into the bank account of the beneficiary within a month.
He said that under this scheme, the State government provides a financial assistance of Rs.41,000 on the marriage of a daughter of widow of any section of the society and also to the girl belonging to Scheduled Castes. A grant of Rs 11,000 is given on the marriage of a girl belonging to Backward Classes or general category provided that family belonging to general category has land holding of not more than 2.5 acres and income of less than Rs one lakh per annum.
He said that online system to give shagun to girls would not only facilitate the beneficiaries but would also accelerate the pace of implementation of the scheme. With the timely disbursement, the beneficiaries would be able to utilize the money on time which serves its purpose in real terms, he added.
