The schemes were reviewed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, and it was decided that this would be the last opportunity for the consumers to avail the benefits of complete waiver scheme.
He said that the Surcharge Waiver Scheme-2016 was launched for such consumers who could not pay their outstanding bill for a long time due to any reason. About 1.08 lakh consumers from across the State paid their dues without surcharge till December 31, 2016 under this scheme. These included more than 30,000 and 5,000 consumers in all nine circles of UHBVN and DHBVN, respectively. He said that the schemes had resulted in financial gains to the Department, besides helping the consumers remove their name from list of defaulters. He also urged the people of the State to avail the benefits of the schemes to fulfill the State Government’s vision of providing 24-hour power supply in Haryana.
CHILD CARE LEAVE: The Woman employees working in Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipalities in Haryana will now be able to avail the child care leave.
While stating this today, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain, said that the long-pending demand of these employees had been met, with Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, approving a proposal to this effect.
PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM: With a view to facilitate consumers under the Public Distribution System, the Haryana Government has decided to install a separate server for online distribution of ration.
While stating this today, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr. Karan Dev Kamboj, said that different types of government works other than distribution of ration could also be carried out at ration depots through point of sale devices. The government would have the option of carrying out disbursal of social security pensions, payment of electricity bills and conduct various types of surveys using these devices, he added.
He said that as the National Informatics Centre (NIC) carried out various activities, sometimes its server fails thus disrupting the online distribution of ration. The installation of a separate server would ensure timely distribution of ration and make the process completely transparent, he added.
