Republic Day celebrated in Haryana with great enthusiasm despite inclement weather

CHANDIGARH, JAN 26
 The 68th Republic Day was celebrated   throughout Haryana with great enthusiasm. Despite inclement weather, the contingents of police, homeguards, NCC and others took part in the parade held at various places. School students presented colourful cultural programmes and tableaux depicting overall development of the state were taken out. 
          While the Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki presided over the State level celebrations in kurukshetra, Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal unfurled the National Flag at Panchkula. 
Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr. Kanwar Pal, who unfurled the National flag at Kaithal   said that the Central Government has implemented the ‘One Rank One Pension’ scheme for the welfare of soldiers. He said that the State Government has increased the amount of exgratia grant given to family members of soldiers to Rs 50 lakh. A new department has been created for the welfare of ex-servicemen, he added.
After unfurling the National Flag at Rewari today, Deputy Speaker, Vidhan Sabha, Mrs. Santosh Yadav said that our country has made remarkable progress after independence, but a lot needs to be done to realize the dreams of freedom fighters. It is a matter of pride that the country is progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. 
Haryana Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, who unfurled the National Flag at Karnal today, said that at present the average doctor patient ratio in the country was 1:1700 but efforts were being made in the state to bring it down to 1:1000. Therefore, recruitment of doctors and staff was being made, besides a target has been set for establishing 755 new health centres, Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres.
The Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, who hoisted the National Flag at Panipat today, said that  the people in the country were witnessing   growth and development was taking place in Haryana at an accelerated pace.   
After hoisting the national flag at Sonipat today, Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that the Republic Day has a great significance in the history of the country. Today, citizens bow their heads in reverence to great soldiers and martyrs.
Speaking after unfurling the national flag at Jhajjar, Transport and Housing Minister, Mr. Krishan Panwar said that on this very day in 1950 , the Constitution of the country was adopted  f and India became a sovereign republic. The Minister paid tributes to Dr. B.R.Ambedkar and other members of the constituent assembly.
Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu hoisted the National flag at Jind   and said that our brave soldiers discharge their duties even in adverse weather conditions to safeguard the borders of the country so that the people of the country  sleep peacefully. On this occasion, he announced to give Rs two lakh out of his discretionary funds for school students who participated in the Republic Day function. He also declared holiday in all schools of Jind district on January 27, 2017.
Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover hoisted the National Flag at Gurugram and said that ‘Swarna Jayanti Youth Assembly’ programme would be organised in all government and government aided colleges of the state to make students aware of the democracy. For this, ‘Youth Parliament Competitions’ would be organised from district level to State level. On this occasion, he announced to give Rs two lakh out of his discretionary funds for school students who participated in the Republic Day function. He also declared holiday in all schools of the district on January 27, 2017.
Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain hoisted the National Flag at Ambala. She said that the brave men of Haryana have set  an example of their courage and sacrifice. She said that the youth should discharge their duties faithfully to maintain unity and integrity of the country.
Minister of State for Public Health Engineering Department, Dr. Banwari Lal unfurled the National Flag at Palwal. Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Kishan Kumar unfurled the National flag at Rohtak.
Later in the day the Governor was also At Home in Kurukshetra and it was attended by many prominent dignitaries, including the Chief Minister. It was for the first time that physically challenged children were invited on this occasion. The Governor and the Chief Minister also interacted with them.
