Deputy Director of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madhuban, Karnal, Mr Surender Gahlawat has been awarded SL VayaForensic Psychology Award at the 43rd National Annual Conference of Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (NAIACP) held in Coimbatore recently. The award was conferred upon him in recognition of his excellent contribution to the field of forensic psychology.
Many distinguished India and Foreign delegates were present in the conference. Discussions and lectures were held during the conference.
During his service in FSL, he has examined more than 3000 suspects for lie-detection test in all types of crime cases such as murder, theft, rape, extortion and kidnapping. He examined suspects of many sensitive cases that were highlighted in national news. He has delivered more than 100 lectures to judicial officers, prosecutors and police officers and has presented his research work in many all India conferences. He has made concerted efforts to start modern forensic psychology techniques that is brain mapping and narco-analysis in FSL, Madhuban in Haryana.
He has also been awarded appreciation letter by District Administration, Karnal for his outstanding contribution towards crime control services through my services in Forensic Psychology.
Apart from his service in Forensic Psychology he has also served as Rehabilitation Officer and Social Welfare Investigation officer in Social Welfare Department of Haryana from 1989 to 2004. During this period also he has provided his services in Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Planning and Implementation of many welfare scheme such as counselling, self-employment and providing artificial limbs for divyang or specially abled persons which is very close to our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.
