CHANDIGARH, Jan 12
The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi today gave mantra for success to the youth suggesting them to focus on three “Cs” that is Collectivity, Connectivity and Creativity.
The Prime Minister, who was addressing the youth at 21st National Youth Festival at Rohtak through video conferencing from New Delhi today, also advised them to boldly face six major challenges of life. These included ignorance about society, insensitivity about society, triviality about society, inability to rise above casteism, challenge of disrespect to mothers and sisters and carelessness about environment. He exhorted them to overcome these challenges.
While paying rich tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary, he reminded that Swami Vivekananda had said rise, awake and do not stop until the goal is achieved. He said that the work which the youth were doing would impact the nation. He added that awareness is as important as getting to work. After the goal has been set, its important to continue to try to achieve it without any interruption.
Mr Modi described the black money as cause of ruining the nation. He said that the existing system opposes the new thoughts, but he was confident that it would subside with the power of the youth. The youth are fighting against the challenges and the nation is changing with their efforts, he added.
He congratulated the youth on the occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and the National Youth Festival. He said that the festival has been organized in Haryana, the land of Vedas and Gita which inspires to render selfless service.
He said that such occasions provide an opportunity to the youth of different states to understand culture and traditions of each other. He appreciated that during this year Haryana has done partnership with Telangana to strengthen bonds and mutual understanding.
He also paid rich tributes to Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya whose birth centenary was being celebrated.
He said that the theme of the National Youth Festival is Youth For Digital India. The youth would be imparted training in making digital transactions. When the youth return from here, each must train ten families in how to make digital transactions. Earlier the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr Vijay Goel had administered pledge to the participating youth to make digital transactions.
Mr Modi also congratulated the people of Haryana for checking the sex ratio and appreciated the progress made under Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhian saying that if people decide to accomplish something, even the impossible becomes possible. He was all praise for the sports persons of Haryana who have brought laurels to the State and the nation.
Earlier, while welcoming the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that 5000 youth from all over the country are participating in this festival. He said that like Swami Vivekananda, whose name was Narendra, was a source of great inspiration for the youth, Prime Minister, whose name is also Narendra is also a source of inspiration for the youth. He also thanked the Prime Minister for his guidance and assured him that during the Youth Festival, the youth would be provided training in cashless transactions. He also exhorted the youth to recognize their power. He said that when the youth stands the whole country follow them.
Speaking on the occasion Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Mr Vijay Goel was all praise for the Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal for organizing this event and said that the way Haryana is marching ahead in all spheres of development under the leadership of, Mr Manohar Lal, the Central Government had decided that this prestigious event should be organized in Haryana. He also appreciated the State Government for the mascot of the event Mhari Lado and said that today our daughters are marching ahead in every field be it sports, education or science and making the nation and the state proud.
Mr Goel said that today Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has become an idol of youth in the country. While exhorting the youth to work hard in their lives, the Union Minister said that his Ministry was planning to organize several other similar events and those youth who intended to participate in these events could either contact the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs or him directly.
