More than 56.40 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana as compared to over 51.06 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 52.98 lakh MT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 3.41 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers.
He said that more than 24.80 lakh MT of paddy have purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Over 17.45 lakh MT by Hafed, over 5.73 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation, over 4.85 lakh MT by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and 13,244 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.
He said that more than 13.69 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Karnal, 11.16 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, over 7.51 lakh MT in Kaithal and over 7.32 lakh MT in Ambala. Similarly, over 5.92 lakh MT Fatehabad, 5.23 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, over 1.86 lakh MT in Jind, 1.18 lakh MT in Panchkula, 1.11 lakh MT in Sirsa, 57,983 MT in Palwal, 59,146 MT in Panipat, 9,660 MT in Rohtak, 7,695 MT in Jhajjar and 2,459 MT in Gurugram.
