The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today renamed village Amin of Kurukshetra as Abhimanyupur and directed that Abhimanyu Park should be developed along with its statue, the road from Amin to Thanesar be widened to four feet, and the Primary Health Centre be upgraded to Community Health Centre after the criteria is met. He also issued directions that a map should be prepared for the nearby pilgrimage sites in Rantuk Yaksh Tirth.
Speaking to media persons at Rantuk Yaksh Tirth at Pipli in Kurukshetra, the Chief Minister said the state government was preparing a route map of pilgrimage sites on 48 kos for tourists from all over the world. A special bus service will begin on October 14 to facilitate tourists.
A total of 134 pilgrimage sites have been identified on 48 kos out of which he had visited 15 pilgrimage sites. The land of Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Jind and Kaithal districts is known for its glorious history.
After visiting the Ban Ganga Tirath in Dayalpur village, he said the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) would maintain cleanliness at all ponds located at pilgrimage sites and arrangements would be made to fill them with clean water. The Chief Minister visited all the 15 pilgrimage sites and offered prayers there.
When the people of Kirmach village presented him with a charter of demands, the Chief Minister assured them that the Khel Mela ground and ghats would be developed and new road would be constructed from Mela ground to the pilgrimage site. He also gave the assurance that the demands presented by the people of village Kamoda would be fulfilled. “There is no dearth of funds for development works”, he said.
During the pilgrimage, the Chief Minister went around the tirths. These include Rantuk Yaksa in village Beed Peepli of Kurukshetra, Abhimanyu Tile in Amin, Banganga in village Dayalpur, Kultaran in village Kirmach, Kamyak in village Kamoda, Jyotisar, Bhishm Kund in Narkatari, Salihotra in village Sarsa of Pehowa, Saptsaraswat of Mangna, Som in Gumthala Garh, Saraswati of Pehowa, Bhurshivara in Bhor Saiyda. He also went into important details of history at some sites.
