Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that appointment letters to newly recruited 554 doctors has already been issued and they will soon join their duties.
Mr Vij was replying to a question during first day of ongoing winter session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
He said that foundation stone of Medical College in Jind town was laid in the month of September 2016. The concept plan for establishment of medical college at Jind has been approved by government. He said that the government has also notified a high powered committee for seeking the project implementation agency or consultant for the entire upcoming project. The committee will invite bids by floating expression of interest amongst the central government undertaking having capacity and expertise to undertake such projects. The selection of project implementation agency is under process and the construction was likely to commence after finalization of the agency, he added.
The Minister said that budget provision of Rs25 crore had been made under the state outlay for construction of this medical college at Jind in financial year 2017-18. Apart from this, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Mr JP Nadda has also been requested to include the case of Jind Medical College under phase –II of centrally sponsored schemes of establishment of new medical colleges.
