The Haryana Urban Local Bodies Department will spend Rs 436 crore under the AMRUT Yojana for better sewerage management in Karnal, Sonepat and Ambala. An agency has been hired for this purpose.
While stating this today, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain said that this scheme would prove to be an instrumental in the systematic infrastructural development of urban areas of the State.
She said that Rs 178 crores would be spend for improving the sewerage management in Karnal. She said that 180 kilometer long sewerage line would be laid within a period of two years which would have 10,500 manholes and sewerage connections would be given to 9,216 households. Similarly, structural development of 150 km long sewerage line in Ambala would be ensured at a cost of Rs 144 crore. Under this, 8,875 manholes would be created and sewerage connections would be given to 10,879 households.
She said that in Sonipat, a contract of Rs 114 crore has been given for the replacement of old pipe lines for drainage of dirty water, laying new pipe lines in view of the increasing urban population and for better functioning. She said that similarly, sewerage line of 154 kilometers of 200 mm to 300 mm capacity and sewerage line of 22.5 kilometer of 400mm to 1800mm capacity would be replaced in Sonipat. A time limit of one-and-a half year has been fixed for replacing the sewerage lines, she added.

While giving this information, spokesperson of police department said that acting swiftly one the tip off received, the police had arrested the owners of the illegal casino; Paramjeet of Jhajjar district and Kapil of Gurugram.
The police have recovered from the spot cash of over Rs. 22 lakh, four American Dollar, one pistol, four live cartridges, 48 bottles of beers, machine of currency counting, 210 tokens, four packets of play cards, three laptops and one table game, he added.
TRAINING-CUM-INTERACTION SESSION: Haryana Secondary Education Department will organize a training-cum-interaction session for Technical Nodal Officers at district level on October 13 in Panchkula, to resolve the issues being faced by various field offices in the updating of HRMS portal.
In this regard, all District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers have been directed to send their Technical Nodal Officers to attend the session.

While giving this information here today, a spokesperson of the Higher Education Department said that the Department has sought the details of last three toppers of M.A. Final year in various subjects, from all government colleges in the State, by October 30, 2017.
