CHANDIGARH, AUG  27
Academic Council of Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak today approved the Career Advancement Scheme and Allowances of Faculty of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak during its      9th meeting held today.
While stating this today, a spokesman of the university said that this Scheme was recommended by a committee constituted by Vice Chancellor on the representation made by the Haryana Medical Teacher’s Association.  As many as 52 agenda items were discussed and approved in the meeting, he added.
He said that after approval of this scheme by the state government, as many as 300 faculty members of Health University would get better promotional avenues which would encourage them to work further with dedication. This Scheme would prove beneficial to the faculty who is facing a problem of stagnation in almost all departments at the level of the rank of Professor.  This problem is much more serious in those departments where the sanctioned posts of Sr. Professors are either one or two, he added.
He said that approximately 65 posts of Senior Professors and 300 posts of Teachers are sanctioned presently.  Therefore, only 20 percent of the faculty was getting the opportunity to be promoted as Senior Professors and 80 percent of the faculty was denied as less number of posts is sanctioned.
