The Haryana Government has centralized the procurement of
medicines under the new drug policy and seven drug warehouses have been
established at Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Gurgaon, Bhiwani, Rohtak and Hisar.
Besides, there is a proposal to set up two new drug warehouses at Sonipat and
Faridabad.
While
giving this information here today, Health Minister, Rao Narender Singh said
that State Government has decided to form a Haryana Medical Service Corporation
so as to streamline the process of procurement and supply of medicines and
medical equipment in the State.
He
said that the Corporation would ensure the procurement, storage, supply and
distribution of medicines to Government Hospitals and Medical Institutes in the
state. The State Government has implemented online web enabled drug software
system for the procurement and demand generation system.
Health
Minister said that 343 ambulances were being provided for speedy transportation
to the nearest hospitals for treatment of emergency patients. Health Department
has purchased 17 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and the purchase of 60
new ambulances and 21 ALS ambulances was in process.
He
said that 15063 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) have been engaged
under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and they were making link between
community and health system. Closed User group (CUG) mobile connection have
been provided to all Auxilary Nurse Midwife (ANMs), Lady Health Visitor (LHVs),
Public Health Nurse (PHNs), ASHA and Information Assistants to facilitate
operationalization of SMS based work-plans and verification and validation
records of health providers and beneficiaries captured in the Microsoft
Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) server.
Rao
Narender Singh said that the NRHM has approved a sum of Rs. 330 crore for
setting up of 19 Community Health Centres (CHCs), 79 Primary Health Centres
(PHCs) and 286 Sub Centres. Out of this, an amount of Rs. 225.64 crore has been
released to Haryana State Roads and Bridges Development Corporation for the
construction. The construction work of 14 CHCs, 54 PHCs and 168 Sub Centres
have been completed and the remaining work is in progress.
